The Community Resource Center, operated by Pickens County Family Connection in partnership with Jasper United Methodist Church, is a welcoming place where individuals and families can find support, resources, and connection.
Whether you need help accessing community resources, completing applications, searching for employment, using a computer, or connecting with local services, we are here to help. Our goal is to connect, equip, and empower our neighbors by providing guidance, encouragement, and practical support.
Our goal is for the Center to be a “third space” for our community. A place outside of home and work where people can gather, learn, build relationships, and feel a sense of belonging. Through support groups, workshops, community activities, and special events, we aim to create opportunities for connection and growth for people of all ages.

Pickens Feeds Pickens
In Pickens County, neighbors help neighbors.
Pickens Feeds Pickens campaign is a community effort to keep the community’s Little Free Food Pantries stocked, so every child and family has access to food when they need it.
Our Little Free Food Pantries provide free, accessible food to anyone who needs a little extra support. These pantries are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with no applications, qualifications, or questions asked.
The pantries are stocked entirely through the generosity of community members, businesses, churches, civic groups, and organizations who believe that no one in our community should go hungry. Whether someone is facing an unexpected hardship, stretching their budget until payday, or simply needs a little help, these pantries are here to provide immediate support.
There are many ways to get involved:
Add Food to a Pantry
If you see a pantry that is running low, consider adding a few shelf-stable items during your next grocery trip.
Host a Food Drive
Businesses, churches, schools, clubs, and community groups can organize food drives to help keep the pantries stocked year-round.
Make a Financial Contribution
Monetary donations allow us to purchase food and respond quickly when pantry supplies run low.
Together, we can ensure that every family in Pickens County has access to food when they need it most.
The Little Free Food Pantries can be found at these locations:
- Pickens County School Central Office

Walk A Mile Program
The Walk A Mile in Their Shoes program helps ensure that students in Pickens County have access to properly fitting shoes and essential clothing so they can attend school with comfort, confidence, and dignity. By partnering closely with school social workers and counselors, we are able to respond quickly to student needs and provide support without burdensome paperwork or unnecessary barriers.
Whether a child needs a new pair of shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, or emergency essentials, our goal is simple: to remove obstacles that can impact attendance, participation, and self-confidence. Every child deserves to walk into school feeling prepared to learn, grow, and thrive alongside their peers.
